The online class for bloggers who want to confidently shoot gorgeous images.

Hey blogging girl boss, does this sound like you?

You’ve got a blog with a few photos that you think are just ok.

You’re not super proud of them and you really want to know how to take pictures that are not only gorgeous but also unique to your brand.

You’ve dabbled in shooting in auto on your camera and the thought of shooting in manual has crossed your mind...

...but let’s face it - manual mode is way too intimidating and what the heck are aperture, ISO and shutter speed anyway?

You’re frustrated because you've watched countless YouTube videos and read articles on shooting in manual but you're still confused.

You want to be confident in your ability to create gorgeous images so your blog stands out from the crowd.

Now imagine being able to shoot in manual mode effortlessly - so much so that it's like second nature for you.

Imagine being able to have an album of ready to use images you created to use for your next blog post.

Imagine being able to easily setup and style a beautifully lit image for your own home without a bunch of fancy equipment.

You want to learn how to do all of this confidently.

But you don’t want to learn from just any photographer.

You want someone who not only understands how frustrating it can be to learn how to shoot in manual but also knows how to compose an image, find the best lighting, and knows what it’s like to shoot for a blog.

That's why I created an online photography class especially for bloggers. (I got you, girl!)

Introducing The Basics of Shooting for your Blog.

The Basics of Shooting for your Blog is an online photography class that will teach you how to shoot in manual so that you can create gorgeous images for your blog and Instagram.

In this online class you will learn:

  • How to shoot in manual mode

I’ll break down the three settings you use while shooting in manual and explain why it’s important to know if you want to get the most customized images.

  • Lighting tips for shooting products and portraits

I’ll cover indoor and outdoor lighting and share tips for what to do in tricky lighting situations.

  • Rules of Composition

I’ll share some of the most important rules of composition that you can use to improve any photo.

  • How to create a DIY Lightbox

I’ll teach you how to setup a light box at home and use it to shoot products in natural light (for less than $5).

  • Tips for styling and shooting products

I’ll show you how to style and shoot food, stationary, and jewelry that you can apply to your blog and Instagram feed.

  • Behind the scenes of shooting and focusing manually

I’ll show you behind the scenes videos of me shooting in manual and you’ll see how I adjust the aperture, shutter speed and ISO to create the correct exposure and focus in an image.

I know manual can be really confusing to learn at first - so if you’re a visual learner like I am - this online class will break it down for you (it's something I wish I had when I first started photography!)

Hi, I'm Megan Weaver - photographer of fashion & lifestyle bloggers and women entrepreneurs.

For the past three years, I've worked with hundreds of bloggers and entrepreneurs.

In college, I took my first photography class. I didn't know anything about the technical part of shooting in manual and very little about anything else (I was borrowing my parents' camera and auto was all I knew.)

I was so confused as I tried to learn manual and navigate all the settings on the camera.

I did my best to memorize the settings and remember how aperture, ISO and shutter speed worked together.

To tell you the truth, I was so confused & frustrated and wanted to give up on photography all together.

It's been seven years since I took that photography class, and I'm so glad I kept learning and pushed through that confusing phase.

I kept practicing - with my sister, family and friends and now shooting in manual is like second nature to me!

More than five years later, I'm now photographing bloggers, entrepreneurs and creatives as my full time job - that's something I never thought I'd say.

But it's true - and it's because I kept practicing on my own and didn't give up.

If I can go from being frustrated and confused by my camera to shooting with some of the best bloggers and entrepreneurs in Dallas - I can definitely show you how to use your camera to create images you're proud to share.

I don't want you to have to go through the same drawn-out learning curve I had to - that's why I created this class for you.

I want to teach you how to create images that don't embarrass you so that you can build your confidence and credibility in the blogging world.

If I can do it, then you - along with passion, practice and dedication - can do it too.

What bloggers are saying about The Basics of Shooting for your Blog

Caroline Wilder

I took Megan's Basics class just before launching my blog. She covered everything from composition to how to shoot in manual, so she really went through the entire process, start to finish. I went from having no idea how to use a DSLR to feeling confident about the photos I've been taking. Being new to the blog scene, I'm really excited to see how things go and how my style will progress as I keep practicing. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone starting out in photography. Megan knows what she's doing and she's not afraid to share the knowledge that has made her as good as she is. She's really on your team. She wants you to be as knowledgable and successful as you can be.

This class was FANTASTIC! I have recently become interested in photography for my blog and in the beginning, I would shoot my photos in automatic mode. My photos never were quite how I imagined them until I took Megan's class and learned how to shoot in manual mode. Since taking the class, I've explored various manual techniques and I'm now very pleased with my photos. If you are a new photographer and want to learn how to take beautiful photos, I definitely recommend this class!

  1. Becoming a great photographer doesn't happen overnight. It requires that you put in the time and effort to learn how to shoot in manual - and that you practice, practice, practice. That's the only way you’ll learn and be able to implement everything I’m sharing with you.
  2. It’s normal to feel frustrated and confused at first. If after you’ve gone through the class and you aren’t comfortable with manual mode - don’t give up. Everyone learns differently and at different speeds. The important thing is you continue to practice and believe in yourself - because I certainly do!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • q-iconWho is this class for?

This class is for fashion and lifestyle bloggers who want to learn how to confidently shoot in manual on their DSLR camera so that they can create gorgeous images for their blog and Instagram. This class is NOT for you if you aren’t ready to practice shooting in manual and commit to becoming a better photographer. It’s also not for you if you don’t value great photography and don’t care about improving your blog’s appearance overall.

  • q-iconWhat if I don't improve my photography after taking this class?

The only way you won’t see improvement in your photography is if you watch this class and do absolutely nothing with that knowledge. Like I mentioned before, becoming a great photographer doesn’t happen overnight. If it did, everyone would be a pro. It’s something that requires practice and patience. If you take what I’m teaching you and put it into practice on a regular basis, you will be comfortable & confident shooting in manual and your photos will only continue to improve.

  • q-iconWhen will I get access to the online class?

You’ll have access to the class and posing guide immediately after you purchase. You’ll be able to download the class and watch it as many times as you need! If you decide to join the private Facebook community, you’ll be invited to join the group within 24 hours of purchase.

  • q-iconDo I need a DSLR camera for this class?

In order to shoot in manual you will need a DSLR camera. However, you can still benefit from this class if you’re shooting with your phone for Instagram – since learning lighting, product styling and how to use a light box all still apply.

  • q-iconI've never picked up a DSLR camera - is this class still for me?

Yes – I made it just for you. If you want to learn how to shoot beautiful images and have control of your camera’s settings – this class will show you how.  While everyone’s DSLR camera is different, the manual settings I’m teaching you apply to them all. This is the class I wish I’d had when I started to learn how to shoot so I’m confident it can help new photographers.

  • q-iconWhat's included in the private Facebook community?

This will be a private Facebook community where you can meet and get feedback from myself and other bloggers in the class!

  • q-iconI don't have a blog right now, will this class still be useful for me?

Even if you don’t have a blog, you can still use these settings and techniques to improve photography for anything you shoot. Since I’m teaching you the basics of shooting, you can really apply it to whatever you’re passionate about shooting.
